This entry is about a different road home than the last one. My Grandma is closing in on her earthly journey and will be returning home to her Father in Heaven in the next couple of days. Today Lara was able to spend the day with her and said that the veil was very thin and that her house felt like being in the Celestial Room of the Temple.
My Grandma is truly an example of enduring to the end. She has always been true to her faith and done what she was supposed to without question. I am thankful for that kind of example and for her legacy. She has had a hard life and yet I have never heard her question her faith. When she was little she was a sick child but she believed that if she could receive a blessing from the prophet she would be healed. One day she was walking through Temple Square with her mom and she looked up and saw President Grant walking toward her. He wore a big black top hat and a black cape. He stopped and shook my Great Grandma Brauer's hand and then put his hand on my Grandma's head and blessed her right there on the street that she would grow into a healthy young woman. My Grandma wasn't sick after that blessing and she knew that it was an answer to her prayers and a blessing of faith.
Charlie and I are going to go out to see her tomorrow afternoon.

Amy, I would love a copy of this picture of you and your sweet grandmother. She is really an inspiration to me. I hope I can be a grandma like her. Have a wonderful afternoon with her. I know the angels are with her.
...if only we all had that kind of faith! May the Lord's peace and comfort abide with you and your family these next few days...
love you!
