She's my best friend, my role model, and my sister. Here's to turning 27!
1. She is a mother first and foremost.
2. She loves to play with her kids (most mom's go to playgroups to visit with the other mom's-Lara goes to play with the kids).
3. She has a superb sense of style.
4. She is open minded and always willing to try new things.
5. She is an avid book reader and always has great recommendations.
6. She's a planner.
7. She is super fun to go shopping with...It doesn't matter if it is for clothes or one of our Monday night grocery trips.
8. She loves to be outdoors.
9. She loves to exercise and knows a lot about nutrition and exercise.
10. She is always researching parenting techniques and is a very proactive parent.
11. She is constantly thinking up fun things to do with her kids.
12. She has a very vivid imagination.
13. She likes to debate and has recently coached some high school debate tournaments.
14. She likes to keep up on current politics and does her research.
15. She likes to road bike.
16. She has a way higher pain threshold than I do.
17. She is a rock'en jet skier.
18. She loves her mini van but wouldn't mind upgrading to the new 2007 model.
19. She is a hard working and disciplined person.
20. She is an avid journaler and an amazing writer.
21. She likes to be involved in the community but is constantly evaluating her priorities and makes sure that she always balances the things that are important to her.
22. She has a tender and giving heart (it was awesome to watch her with my grandma before she died, she was so attentive to her every need and my grandma loved having her there).
23. She has a strong spirit.
24. She is dedicated to her family. She is not only a good mother but also an amazing sister and is really the central element of our family. She is the one that plans fun events, talks to everyone on the phone, and keeps us all connected.
25. She makes holidays fun and is good at creating new traditions with her family and caring on old traditions from our family.
26. She is a great listener and an awesome person to have deep conversations with.
27. She is a cancer survivor.

As I was reading your tribute to Laura, I thought of the Savior...he increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.(Luke 2:52) Laura sounds like she too, is very well balanced in all of these aspects (intellectually, physically, spiritually, socially). A person like that, isn't easy to come by!

Lara, you are so awesome! Happy birthday to you! ...a couple of days late! I learned lots of new things about you, but already knew lots of those things too. I didn't know you were a cancer survivor, we need to talk!
