The week in review...

This week has been an emotional roller coaster. I'll let the pictures tell the story.

Trevor's Home!
Trevor arrived from Iraq (he is here for a two week leave) hours before grandma's viewing. We didn't know what time Trevor was getting in and he didn't call until he was at the SLC airport. My mom picked him up and then we met in front of Sears at Fashion Place Mall (it is a halfway point between Draper and the airport). Trevor didn't have any civilian clothes so we did a little shopping and then got ready to head to the viewing.

Grandma's Funeral
Grandma's funeral was on Friday and it was a good service. The hardest part for me is always when they close the casket after the family prayer. It just seems so final. I am grateful for the knowledge that it isn't final but at the same time it is a difficult moment.

Here are some pics from the funeral and graveside service.

Trevor, along with several of our cousins, was a pallbearer. This is a pic of him adding his corsage to the casket spread.

Me and Trevor at the graveside service.

Wow you have been busy! I am so glad that you got to see Trevor. That is great that he has a two week leave. Sad circumstances but good that he could come. Charlie is adorable...the boys look sooo much alike.

Paul did a really good job with the photos of the funeral. It really was a bitter/sweet day.

You have a wonderful and good looking family. I wish I could have been at the service for your grandmother. It is nice to see the pictures. The setting is beautiful.

I agree with you, the hardest part about funerals, is the closing of the casket. Despite the truth's that we know, it's still really difficult and painful...and yes, it seems so final. I'm sorry about your Grandma. It's never easy to have to say goodbye, whether our beloved dead are young, or old; or whether their death was sudden, or drawn out, giving us some time to prepare. It's just always hard, and sad. I love you, and I've had you in my thoughts and prayers.
