I went to a yoga class tonight and it was a disaster. I think my chakra's were out of sync or maybe I am just zen-less. Anyway, it has been about two years since I attended a yoga class but I have been working out a bit over the past month so I didn't expect it would be a problem. At first I couldn't focus at all and finally walked out of the room and called Paul to make sure that the boys were okay (I am not a helicopter mom but the worrying rarely ceases). Then I came back and really tried to focus but nothing was working for me. I got distracted every time I looked in the mirror because in my blue knee length shorts (that I will never wear again) I looked like a fat BYU co-ed (my number three fear after mice and cats). So then I tried to close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing and the music but my balance was off and I got discouraged really quick. Then the instructor introduced the bird of paradise pose into the sequence. I had never heard of or seen this pose before tonight and all I have to say is "ya right."

Amy I got a good laugh at this one because I have tried and tried to do yoga and every time I think to myself you want me to do what? Have you seen my body?
But I keep trying someday I am sure it will work!
Even when I danced ballroom I never could do a full split. So yoga is something I've never tried. Maybe I'll come with you next time when my postpartum body is making me depressed. I assure you one class with me in it will make you feel so much better about yourself. But if the picture you attached is the bird of paradise pose, than I might have to rethink coming, yikes!
Good for you for even trying, especially if you went by yourself.
Never done it, probably never will. I am so unflexible!
Yeah i got this gene from my mom that I don't like to try new things and yeah from that picture I may just never try Yoga. Who knows in a few months I may need all the help I can get to lose this pregnancy weight.
Amy, you should try the spinning classes! Nothing gives me a better workout, and I love that they're in a really really dark room...
Hmmmmm..........don't think I'll be trying that one! I am so not limber anymore. Not to mention a hunchback!
Hey, Amy want to go to Yoga tomorrow? (I am being serious)
