My weekend away...

I spent this past weekend in one of my favorite places with some of my favorite people. My parents have a cabin in Driggs and we try to use it as much as we can (Lara and I have hosted all of our Breathe Retreats there and are planning another one for this fall). The cabin is nestled in the middle of their 20 acre property and looks out on the Tetons. It is really green up there this time of year and the air is fresh and crisp. It was a fun weekend with my girlfriends (including my mom and two of my sisters) and Charlie. We soaked in the hot tub, appreciated the scenery, hiked, shopped (Driggs has surprisingly good shopping), ate, read, slept, and chatted a lot. The first night while we were in the hot tub we heard a coyote and my mom got nervous and had to take her dogs inside. I share that detail only because I find it very entertaining to watch my mom with her dogs. Sometimes she talks to them like they are her sweet babies and other times she yells at them like they are her annoying teenagers. I did miss what I hear was an interesting round of "truth" while I was putting Charlie down that night and I still want a recap sometime. I am glad that I was able to take the time to get away (even though my house was really messy when I got home and George was off his schedule which made me really pissy for a day).

I love the way you describe Driggs, and the cabin. It sounds so beautiful, and refreshing. For some reason when you talk about it, I think of Park City...is it at all comparable to Park City, or am I way off? Anyway, I would still love to go up there sometime...
It sounds like this was a good little getaway for you. We all need those from time to time...don't we?!

I so missed out, now I'm pissy too. I can't wait to hear about the "truth" game at book club tonight. Maybe that will help me feel better about feeling a little left out. (not your fault though)

Driggs has beautiful scenery and crisp air like Park City but about a 10th of the people. There is just a single clothing and book store but both places have awesome selection and we know the owners and they love it each time we come in. It is really fun.

I am glad that you got to get away for a rest. We enjoyed Paul and George for two evenings.

You are a goof, but very entertaining. I enjoyed the weekend too. My kids were off schedule, too and I brought home hives. However, it was totally worth it.

I am so sad I miss out on all this stuff. Next year when I am there we have to do lots of girls outings as I will only be there for one year and then who knows where I will be. :)
