I am grateful...

It isn't about the table accessories and food items that I spent half a day going from store to store gathering that makes Thanksgiving complete. Thanksgiving is a celebration of all we are grateful for. Today I had to take a step back and remember the purpose of this special day after George started throwing up this morning and forced us to change our plans. I wanted so badly to host the perfect Thanksgiving feast this year and was excited for everyone to see my beautifully adorned "adult" table and whimsical "kid" table. But alas, the universe had different plans for us and while I don't believe that everything happens for a reason, I do believe that I needed something to force me to count my blessings today.

So in honor of Thanksgiving here are 22 of mine...
1. Paul. He made our Thanksgiving turkey which is currently in the oven and filling the house with a yummy Thanksgiving smell. He is my soul mate, my most trusted friend, and my lover.
2. George and Charles. They are my sweet boys and remind me each day to enjoy the journey.
3. God. He is ever present, ever loving, and always giving.
4. Siblings. Mine are not only my best friends and favorite people but some of the most inspiring people and best examples that I have in my life.
5. Parents
6. Books
7. Scriptures
8. Memory Foam
9. Meditation
10. Prayer
11. Traditions
12. Christmas Decorations
13. Microwave Popcorn
14. Blogs
15. Online Shopping
16. Cozy Slippers
17. corn (Paul's entry)
18. Humor
19. Hebgan Lake
20. Driggs
21. Grandparents
22. Body Pillows

I'm grateful for the Atlantic Ocean--for without it a lot of Portuguese would be walking into our country.

I'm grateful for my big sister Amy because she is amazing and always knows when to have a good time. She is also one of my greatest examples of being unwavering in the gospel. Love you Amy!

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry. I guess there isn't really a good time for our little ones to get sick...but on Thanksgiving Day? How horrible. I appreciate your outlook. You have always had this special way of making the most out of a bad situation; and not letting it get you (or anyone else) down. Thank you for your example. I'm grateful for you.
