Learning to pray

Lately, we have been putting more focus on prayer and trying to pray before we eat and have a family prayer before bedtime. George has gotten so excited about these new events that he has decided that he wants to be the one to say the prayer. I have seen many kids go through this process during my life and generally the mom or dad will say a phrase and then the child will repeat it, creating a somewhat normal prayer. Well in true George style he has come up with something unique. When we tell him it is time to pray he folds his arms and says, "Georgie's turn, Georgie pray" (BTW, I think it is way funny that he calls himself Georgie). Then he begins to pray in a made up language that sounds kind of like a mixture of German and Chinese. When he is done he yells, "Amen."

That is so cute and innocent...I can't wait to meet the little guy. Right now Halle who is 3 has been corrupted by her older siblings and has started using potty talk in her prayers by saying things like "help us to shake our bootys" This of cource, elicits major giggles so it will probably go on for a while!

Jonah says a prayer before lunch in his Mother's-Day-Out class. We've started saying the same prayer at home with him at supper... it's a work in progress.

At night, we say a prayer together and Jonah blesses those he knows ("God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, etc). Our housekeeper is #3 on the list. Stephanie's sister's dog is usually #4... and her sister is #6 or so... :)

And sometimes, Jonah just says, "That enough. No more people tonight Daddy."

Did Scarlet's tattling on you get to you?
Georgie is a cutest. I am still laughing about him falling down the stairs tonight. What a funny dude. I am so glad that I get to be his "LaLa".

Too funny Georgie! I have sat through a few prayers where all I've understood was a resounding "AMEN". I always say my children are on a higher spiritual plane than I am, so I generally say "Amen" right along.

One you thing you don't have to worry about is him having his own personality or and originality. It amazes me how he can be so sure of who he is at such a young age rather than just following the crowd. He is such a fun kid!

I'm trying to imagine what a mixture between German and Chinese would even sound like.
That boy sure is a cutie. And how adorable that he calls himself Georgie!

I'm so excited for you guys to come. And a whole week? That would be fabulous!

So cute. I love that. We had a little sunbeam that prayed the the germs wouldn't get him because "they're after me, Heavenly Father, and you know it." Justin and I seriously could barely contain ourselves.
