10:00pm

I have had the goal to go to bed by 10:00pm on and off for several years now but have never been consistent (like more than one night in a row). This morning I decided that the 10:00pm thing is the key for me. I have visions of it turning my life around. Getting me out of this unproductive slump that has been plaguing me (I have been blaming it on the cold weather but this morning realized that the fact that I rarely get more than five hours of sleep a night may also have something to do with it). This 10:00pm thing is a major change for me because I rarely go to bed before 1:00am (I read, I work, I blog, I shop online until the wee hours nearly every night). My other problem is that my 14 month old baby still won't sleep through the night. He is getting better but still wakes up at least once because he is either just a little bit hungry, can't find his pacifier, or just needs his mom to snuggle him for ten minutes. So I have a new plan which now that I think about it is rather obvious but I guess the fact that I never sleep has been prohibiting me from doing the obvious. Wish me luck.

Do you want me to call you at 9:50 every night to make sure you are getting ready for bed? Because I doubt this thing is going to work for you without a friendly reminder.

Good luck! I have problems getting enough sleep too. I should jump in bed as soon as I put the kids down. I'd be getting some beautiful sleep if I did that. For me, it's party time once the kids are down and I find anything I can do until I pass out or I make myself go to bed at 11, better than one, but not good enough. I too look forward to the day when the kids all sleep through the night. It's my oldest that gets me up. Sometimes I do miss diapers.

I am shocked that my good friend is not getting enough sleep.....I seem to remember long afternoon naps and early bedtimes were a must back in the old college days. I still feel bad for those poor lovesick boys who would call and call only to be told that you were......napping yet again:) Little did they know that it was actually true! Good luck with the early bedtimes, I feel good if I am in bed before midnight.

I think maybe you should try 11pm and then work your way back to 10pm. I mean 10pm is early, like Dan goes to bed that early. So what is the new plan for the Charlie Boy?

You are a crazy woman! I am for sure in bed and usually asleep by 10:00pm. I am so tired by that point, I just have to sleep. Good luck on your new goal, hopefully you will feel like a new woman.

Yeah good luck. I try to be in bed by 11 each night. It's not always easy to do.

I am usually in bed by 10:00, but I have to read for at least an hour each night and longer if my book is good so I rarely go to sleep early enough. I used to love naps on weekends, but anymore if I take a nap I can't get to sleep at night. What is happening to me?

So you said you have a new plan, what is it?

I agree with Lara. I think you should say maybe 11:00 to start with and then work your way to 10:00. If you haven't been getting to sleep before 1:00 am, then 11:00 would be a huge improvement.
But who am I to try and give advice? I'm never in bed by 11:00!
