I finally figured out the only reason to be alive is to enjoy it.
- Rita Mae Brown
I should add that I believe there are other reasons for being alive as well but that I do believe we can choose each day to enjoy the hand God deals us. Choosing to be happy is a very important part of my life strategy...The foundation actually.

Understanding that happiness is a choice we make in whatever situation we're in is something not everyone gets. I like the fact that I am in control of it though. I like to be in control of things, and no one can tell me whether I am going to be happy or not. Today I choose to be completely ecstatic all day long.
Great quote! I'm always reinforcing this principle with myself and my kids, in fact just this morning on the way to school we talked about it! It's so true, we play such a huge role in how our day rolls out and how we react to all things around us.
So very true. You are a very smart woman!
Amen. I loved this quote.
Love the quote!! Now I just need to do a better job applying it to my life.
So where are the snow pictures of your boys your promised?
WHY is it so hard somedays- today was one of them.. the quote helped me remember the great things and to enjoy them. THANKS
I think when that concept finally clicked in my brain several years ago, everything changed for me. I saw everything differently and reacted differently to good and bad times. I try to enjoy every day, especially the time I have with my little family. Life is been dramatically different with the changed attitude. It seems like common sense, but it takes a huge effort to truly enjoy every day no matter what kind of day it is. Thanks for the quote, Amy!
That is an extremely powerful quote! We do indeed choose our happiness. I had a quote hanging on my bedroom wall all through high school that said, "I have two choices today, I can choose to be in a good mood or I can choose to be in a bad mood." I need to work on focusing on the positive more. Thanks for this great reminder!
