Barack the Vote! I'll admit it...I got chills during his acceptance speech and am pretty sure I would have gotten as teary eyed as Oprah did if I hadn't missed most of it due to the distraction created by my "preschool activities" research.

Congrats to you. I'm pretty disappointed in America right now. I can't believe we just elected someone to be the President of the United States of America that won't even salute the flag.
Check out factcheck.org (a not-for-profit, bi-partisan service) for the real story on the email that went around about Obama not saluting the flag.

I tried to stay up late to catch the speech but ended up helping Anna get over her new fear of the dark. Thanks for posting the link!
I too was disappointed. I am fearful of what the future now holds. I don't agree with his socialistic views but I am willing to "work" with him. I don't want him to fail as a president. I want him to be a great Pres. but I just don't agree with him on many of his positions. Read "Obama Nation." It too is bi-partisan.
Uh... I cried liked a baby during his speech and I am proud to be American today.
"Obama Nation" is written (in the author's own words) with the intent to discredit Obama and attack his campaign. This book's facts have been discredit by numerous sources including Fox news.
This is not a "bi-partisan" book. I bought it and read it because I love and respect Char and wanted to give it a chance. I began reading it two days ago and I finished it today. It was complete rubbish. However, I still love and respect Charlotte and I am glad she gave the recommend because now I understand the other side better.
What things are "rubbish?" He had many sources to support his facts. He states in the beginning of the book that he isn't Dem. or Rep. Can you send me any links that prove otherwise? I think on these issues we will all just have to agree to disagree. P.S. I love and respect you too.

Thats for you Char. Oh and dude, come on? The author states at the beginning of the book that he think all people who are "leftist" are socialist and are out there to destroy America. I am one of the most patriotic people I know and a democrat. The author said he has worked on and for Republicans and that he is a true conservative. That is not bi-partisan or non-partisan. He said he would never support a Dem. ever.
Amy, Sorry that this all over your blog. I will shut up now.
Wait one last thing. I have read the McCain autobiography (it is way good and I think McCain is a true American Hero and we are lucky to have him as a civil servant) and the Obama Nation. Char, your turn. Read one of the Obama autobiographies. They have very little politics in them and then maybe you can get the other side of who Obama is. Fair?
Sure, I will go onto the library site now and check 'em out. Fair! :)
God answered my prayers and Obama won!!!!!! What relief to have Bush out of the White House!! We need an intelligent black man to lead our Nation in these struggling times.
