Easter Egg Hunt

Nana hosted a sweet Easter Egg Hunt at her Utah house the Sunday before Easter. The kids had a great time hunting eggs and eating candy and I had a great time eating my mom's super delectable deviled eggs. In fact, I may have eaten five deviled eggs but please keep in mind that the consumption of five deviled eggs is really only 2.5 whole eggs. Actually, don't think about it at all, that sounds even worse and the eggs where only the appetizer.

There was the requisite waiting...

Followed by the race to hunt eggs.
And then the biggest/oldest/first born/best (I may or may not be the oldest in my family) grand kid took the lead (btw, I am willing to bet my mom's obese dog that if Travis had been there he would have stolen the lead from Daphne).

Followed by the second biggest grand kid.

They came out in perfect pecking order. I can appreciate the fairness in this natural order of things.

Good eye George
Go Scarlet. Don't let your long legged siblings out hunt you!

Have I ever mentioned that she is my favorite person in the whole wide world to take pictures of? I want to adopt her but Lara won't let me. I may have mentioned that before too.

I love these two together. George asks me at least a couple of times a week why he can't marry his cousin Scarlet. He is sure that she is the only girl he will ever love and even more sure that she will be the best mom ever.
That's my Uncle Noel in the background. He's a funny guy.

Charlie didn't care so much about reaching his 20 egg limit as he did about devouring the candy in the ones he was able to snag.

This picture turned out blurry but it still makes me laugh. You've got to love the sugar crazed smile on Daphne's face.
And in this one Scarlet is sporting the ever popular Easter sugar coma look.

I am willing to bet mom's obese dog that Travis would not only have been the first "kid" out but that he would have ran a few kids over in the process. Aw. Family is the funnest.

Easter egg hunts are the best! You take the most amazing pictures, I love the ones of the kids coming out the door, they are fantastic!

I am willing to bet Mom's obese dog that Travis would not only have run kids over he would have found all the money eggs by opening them and putting the candy ones back. I love you Travis!!

I wish we could have been there. Maybe next year. :)

You take awesome pictures. I felt like I was there. I wish I had been there. Daphne would have probably still beat me out the door though. George snagging that first egg made me smile. All the big kids ran past it. He's awesome. I love Charlie's truck basket. Where did you get that? Owen would be in heaven with that. Why does your mom have such an obese dog? None of you guys were even close to obese. Does she love the dog, i.e. feed the dog, more than she did you guys?

Erika, yes she does feed the dog more than us. That is a fact. We NEVER had food in the cupboards. That is how we remained so skinny.

And I am willing to bed mom's obese dog that Travis would have made a kid cry from stealing their money eggs from them.
