Red Fish Lake

We had an amazing week at Red Fish Lake. It was our first ever family camping trip and I am very happy and relieved to report that it was a huge success. Red Fish is so beautiful and completely worth the drive.

our campsite
lots of quality cousin time
Daphne, Brauer, Zane
Scarlet, Charlie, George, and Laney
Nana and Scarlet
Daphne, Abby, and Zane
Laney, Charlie, and George. Laney was super cute with my boys and they love her to pieces.
Brauer cheesing at the camp fire
Georgie Porge
Zane's Awapahui

The Sayer's (my mom's husband + family) have a tradition they call "Awapahui," each person sets a personal goal to do something brave or awesome on the water. The completion of your goal is called an Awapahui and the awards (t-shirts) are handed out each night at the family dinner.

Nana, Lara, and Brauer (love the Brauer belly)
 Charlie earning his Awapahui
Abby, Laney, Charlie
Charlie was/is so incredibly proud of himself. I am so glad that he got the chance to be brave and do something that was hard for him.
more crazy cousin games
Jeff skiing in the rain
 cliff jumping

Daphne earning her Awapahui
 the view
Charlie and I stayed on the boat during the cliff jumping (not our thing).
The Sayer's also have an annual duck race.
Charlie had a hard last day. I kept him up too late the night before and we all paid the price but even with a grumpy Charlie it was an awesome experience. It is hard to describe how beautiful Red Fish is and there is no cell service. It is remote and majestic and it was a great way to unplug, relax and create some awesome memories.

A special thank you to the Sayer's who welcomed us so warmly and included us in all of their fun traditions (the Sayer family has been camping at Red Fish for over 40 years).

I can't get over the crystal, clear water and the majestic mountains! Seriously, that place looks amazing. I just googled it to get more info, and I'm excited to show Jeff. We've wanted to check out the Sawtooth area for a while, and hopefully we can do some camping at Red Fish next summer.

I love the Awa...can't remember the term, but what a great idea. Conquering water fears is a huge confidence booster, in my opinion. Adding a cool T-shirt to the mix makes it even better.

Beautiful and fun pictures, Amy!
