for locals: Hi My Name Is Ryan Screening

A lot of people have asked when Paul's film will be playing in Utah so I thought I would post some info about an upcoming screening.

Hi My Name Is Ryan will be playing in Ogden this Thursday as part of the Foursite Film Festival. Unfortunately, I am traveling for work this week and won't be able to attend but Paul will be there for the screening and the Q & A that will follow.

Here are the details:

I feel like I should have a lot of important things to say about my weekend at the festival, but if I am being honest, the entire weekend was a blur of emotions that I am only a forth of the way through processing. That being said it was really exciting to see how well the film was received by all who saw it. This is my favorite review so far.

As part of the CineVegas experience they have the cast and crew walk the red carpet before their premier. I really wanted a picture with Paul on the red carpet so I made him ask if we could get one of just us. It was funny and ridiculous and they actually had photographers taking our picture (not sure what they are going to do with them) my awesome sister-in-law was standing behind the mini-paparazzi and snapped this shot of us. I love it.

Hi My Name Is Ryan

I haven't seen Paul in a couple of months (except for the occasional high-five and briefly during the red bull delivery service that I provide), we have mostly been communicating through email, and the boys have taken to opening the basement door and yelling, "Paul" when they need a quick daddy fix. Paul has been holed up in his basement office working on Hi My Name Is Ryan (a documentary he and his cousin, Stephen, began work on two years ago). The adventures of directing, filming and editing Hi My Name Is Ryan (see trailer) have absorbed most of Paul's "spare" time over the last two years with major bursts of activity occurring before film festivals he hoped the film would be accepted to. Early this year the film "almost" got into Sundance which is kind of like being "almost pregnant" but an honor none-the-less. Then a couple of months ago the film was accepted to the CineVegas film festival which is the reason that our basement (including the boy's playroom) has become a makeshift production studio with people coming and going at all hours of the night. I will be attending the premier at CineVegas this weekend and am so incredibly excited. Honestly, there aren't words. Anyway, Paul just sent me this review (scroll down to the fourth film) and my excitement and gratitude are bubbling over. The next step is selling the film...
