Nasty, Nasty, Nasty!

Ever since the church bag incident Paul has been trying to trap mice and figure out how they get into our house. He caught one a few weeks ago in the garage but since then he has only been able to catch frogs (apparently we also have a frog problem but they are cute and harmless so I am not worried) in his garage traps. He has never caught a mouse in the house traps and we have never seen one even though we see droppings every once in a while. It is a source of major stress for me and last night Paul was saying that he couldn't figure why he hadn’t been able to catch on or where they were coming from. So this morning I opened up the pantry to get my breakfast cereal and there was a mouse nibbling on the cheese in the trap Paul has had in there for weeks. I screamed, closed the door, and jumped on the counter. Lara was over and just started saying, "Oh no, oh no" and jumped on a chair in the kitchen. Darci was in the family room and I told her to run downstairs and get Paul. He came up and took one look at the mouse and said that it wasn’t nibbling cheese at all but had been before the trap snapped. The mouse was dead and Paul was excited to actually have caught a mouse. Zane was over at our house playing and thought it was cool and looked at the mouse before Paul threw it away. I really hope that George is that brave when he is three. I am more stressed than ever and don't know how I will ever go into the kitchen again, let alone open the pantry door. I am seriously so disturbed that I can't even put my feet on the ground and am writing this all bunched up in my office chair.

I am so sorry! Mice totally gross me out and I'm usually a pretty brave person. I hope that you can get your mouse problem under control so that you can go into your kitchen again! Also, how odd that you have a frog problem!

yucky.. . I hate that I was there to witness your mice problem. :(
When we went to the basement to play I kept lifting everything up and checking. I wouldn't keep my feet on the ground and the old sippy cup down there made me very nervous.
Best of Luck!!!

This morning I made Ryan get off the pot so he could take a spider out of the shower before I got in.

Amy, We have plenty of room at our house. You can come over any time. We haven't seen a sign of that rat for two weeks. I think the cat took care of it.

That really sucks, I hate mice. Luckily I don't have to worry about them. We do have lots of spiders out here in Illinois, I think it is the humidity and maybe all the corn fields. I am constently killing spiders and vacuuming up their webs. But I would much rather have my problem than yours. Spiders don't bother me, but mice, that is another story.
