Goody Goody Gumdrop

George and I are getting good at playing with our food. Here is the newest addition to the gingerbread world that it taking over our kitchen table. If you look close you will notice that several of the gumdrops have little George bites taken out of them (George didn't eat many whole gumdrops but he did sample nearly every one that he put on the tree). I am developing a strong love for food crafts because (1) George loves doing them...so do I (2) they give me an excuse to buy candy...not that I need one (3) they are perishable so you don't have to worry about storing them...I am totally out of storage space and have a problem just throwing things out (4) they are edible so it doesn't matter if they don't turn out perfect because they just get eaten.

p.s. Please share any food craft ideas you have.

Looks like fun. Where did you get it? I think it will fit in with my FHE this coming week. I love the George bites, it adds character.

I don't have any food craft ideas...but I'm going to steal yours :)
By next Christmas, Ruby will be the same age as George is now. It's fun to see what George is loving, and then to be able to get excited about enjoying these things with Ruby next year.
You are such a great mom Amy.

That is a fun idea. Easton would be all over the gum drop tree. I like the george bites also. Didn't he find a flavor he liked after trying them all?

That is so cute! I'm going to get the stuff and do it with my nieces.
My friend just made a similar tree using the same styrofoam cylinder and hot glued buttons on there to make a button tree. It doesn't sound cute, but I swear it was.
Here's the only edible craft I know:
Make blue jello and pour it into clear plastic cups. After it's cooled a little put a few gummy fish, octopus, etc in there to make an aquarium in a cup.

What a cute idea! My kids would have a great time. Amy, you could do sugar cookies with lots of different topings. My kids always have a great time.

You are doing so many fun, festive crafts with George. I need to be more fun and try doing some with Madison. I love the little bites out of the gumdrops, too cute!

If you can't throw anything away, if it's cute you can always give it to me!
