Oh! The Places You'll Go!

This morning I woke up in desperate need of an adventure so I packed up the boys and after a quick stop at the gas station (where we purchased a nice breakfast: two varieties of donuts, chocolate milk for George, apple juice for Charlie, and a cherry Coke for me) we were off to Silver Lake.

We hiked around the lake and the boys did awesome. George walked/ran the whole way and Charlie toddled along most of the way on his own. It was beautiful and refreshing to be in the mountains and I couldn't stop thinking of Dr. Seuss so I am going to let him narrate our adventure.

In that case, of course,
you'll head straight out of town.
It's opener there
in the wide open air.
Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.
Oh! The Places You'll Go!
You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.
We returned with our spirits lifted and in enough time to make it to our 1:00pm church meeting. Though I believe you can create adventure in the ordinary of every day I am grateful I live in a place that makes it so easy to get away and breathe some fresh air at the spur of the moment.

Cute boys. I want to move to Utah, maybe right next to Silver Lake.

I can't believe how big Charlie is getting! Such cute boys. The edible watercolors actually came in a halloween brownie kit I just got at Target.

So I really need to go to Silver Lake. Maybe next time we are down if it isn't too cold.

That is great that the boys walked almost the whole way. I bet they slept good that night.

I have to laugh - we headed up to Silver Lake too this weekend and loved it. Lara has always said how nice it is up there and since my kids are a little young for hiking, this was the perfect spot. AND - Dr. Seuss is my all-time favorite - my entire nursery is decorated with Dr. Seuss and with quotes from that book :)

How lucky for you to have such a beautiful place that you can visit at any given moment! Cute pictures, and I loved reading along with Dr. Seuss.

P.S. I just read your comment on Sharese's blog, and I loved your CHAOS acronym. I suffer from the same syndrome :-)

P.S.S I don't know if you saw my reply on my blog, but yes, I went back to public. Private was too big of a pain for me (and my in-laws). Thanks for the address observation. I fixed the picture right away. I'm glad you noticed that!
