It seems we are never in town during Draper Days but this year we found ourselves hanging out at home with the Herway's and decided to head down to the festivities.

There were lots of good eats, over priced tickets for bounce houses, and music. Curiously, there was also no white trash. The absence of small children with mohawks, grown men in overalls and/or wife beater tank tops, and over weight women in spandex was glaringly evident after spending two weeks in Idaho and attending many public events. I have heard people say that living in Utah is like living in a bubble and I have always resented those kinds of statements. I didn't want to live in a bubble or be perceived as not understanding the "real world" but I have changed my tune and I love my bubble. You should come visit.

Long live the bubble. I think we were the worst dressed people there.
I love Drapers days! I would love to come visit your bubble anytime, I miss it!
The bubble must not be the whole state because on the 4th of July Andrea and I noticed a lot of that stuff.
Yes. Sometimes I miss the bubble dearly. It is something I have tried to explain to my non-member friends out here but I think you have to experience it to understand. So, some days I wish I could walk around and see all the perfect hair, clothes, cars, etc......and then other days I am grateful for the non-competitiveness here. It is good for my self esteem.
Cute George pics....he is looking all grown up all of the sudden.
If you're missing the white trash folks head on over to West Fest or Taylorsville Dayzz (yep two z's).
I'm still laughing over the lovely "white trash" image you so vividly painted in my mind.. that's hilarious!
Mohawks = White Trash? Good to know.
George looks super grown up in those pics. He is four now!
