Driggs, Day 2

My dad's dog, Scout, was driving herself (and us) loony bins with her incessant pacing, scratching, sniffing and yelping at the "something" trapped under the deck. That wet spot you see is doggy drool and Scout spent two days straight stationed at that same spot. We finally called our one-eyed varmint trapper friend who came and set some traps. Four hours later we had ourselves a rat in a trap.

Matt (our like-a-brother) busied himself building a new bridge over the creek.

He had a lot of quality help.

The boys took turns playing on the trampoline.

Charlie doesn't like jumping with George. He has just recently started to get the hang of the trampoline and gets nervous when George and his shenanigans jump on.

He prefers to jump by himself...

Or with Brauer because being the biggest is better.

Brauer is the fourth of four and a super good sport.

Scout even joined in on the fun. The look of intensity on Scouts' face is kind of shocking.

Brauer is a super cute one year old. He is really sweet and happy and has a really tender heart.

He is trying to learn to walk.

I love this picture of Zane hopping the fence on his way to chase a snake. It makes him look like the natural outdoorsman that he is.

Charlie loves to ride the four-wheelers.

I love to take him on rides. He settles himself into my lap, relaxes, and soaks everything in.

We wear our sunglasses so that the mosquitoes and dust don't get in our eyes.

I love this little girl. I really want her to come live with me but Lara won't part with her.

Lara got in touch with her inner Laurel and chopped wood for the camp fire.

George was really impressed (I'll be honest, I was too) and hauled the split wood to the fire pit.

She chopped a lot of wood and we had us a hot fire.

It took a long time for the fire to get marshmallow roasting ready. You can see the finished and four-wheel tested bridge in the background.

The marshmallows were worth their wait.

George loves to eat roasted marshmallows which is kind of suprising considering his list of approved food items is very short.

p.s. This post makes me feel a little bit like Pioneer Woman. I know I am not as cool as her and I know that Driggs isn't a ranch but for a couple of weeks each year I get to pretend I am a country girl and that makes me happy.

p.p.s. Driggs days 3 & 4 were mostly filled with preperations for our big Hebgan Lake trip which was absolutely perfect. Updates are in the works.

p.p.p.s. I promise to never take this view for granted.

Wow, where to start...I think I just might kill for that view. You're right, never take it for granted. The pictures are fantastic and your descriptions make for as much fun as we could have without being there. (Did that make sense?) Laura chopping wood is awesome. I do have one of you doing the same thing taken maybe 20 years ago. Holy Moly! We are old! It looks like you guys had so much fun. I look forward to the Hebgen pics.

Love those pictures. I am missing Driggs today. Sometimes real life is just not that cool.

I love that Charlie likes to jump on the tramp alone or only when "biggest is better" - Welcome to co-op bytheway, George and Charlie will love it!!!
