charlie-george-isms

Charlie has been sick for over a week and while he is pretty much over it he isn't over the whiny, grouchy, nothing makes me happy part. Today while I was getting ready for the day Charlie was throwing a massive fit and I told him I would talk to him when he started talking like a big boy. Then he decided to ramp up his fit throwing a few notches so I shut and locked my bathroom door to show him I was being serious and didn't want to witness his fit. A few minutes later Charlie stopped screaming so I opened the door to find a naked Charlie and a puddle of pee.

Me: Charlie, did you take off your diaper and pee on the floor because your are mad at me?
Charlie: Yes!
Me: Do you feel better now?
Charlie: Yes!

Tonight for FHE we talked about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the fact that we will all be resurrected one day. Then Paul told the boys about his Grandpa Joe who died about six years ago and told them that he really misses Joe but that he knows that he will be able to see him again some day and we talked about how when Joe is resurrected his body will be perfect.

George said the closing prayer and graced us with this little gem: "Bless that Grandpa Joe can be resurrected safely."

I really hope you had some caffeine in that bathroom, my friend. I love boys but they definitely know how to push the right buttons.....oh wait, so do girls. I caught Eli climbing up Jordan's bunk-bed ladder last night completely naked except for a candy necklace. These are the moments we will remember, right??

That is so funny. I think my Mom threats got all mixed up in cyberspace. I told Travis that I hoped he had a boy just like him one day. I never said I hope Amy would get a boy just like Travis one day... really I didn't.

Wow! I can't believe he peed on the floor and that it actually made him feel better! I hope that we are all resurrected safely!

Sometimes I wish I could pee on the floor and have someone else clean it up. I understand how that could make him feel better. At least George was listening! Hahaha

ah man, your boys are too cute. and i'm so impressed with the way you handled the charlie situation. if i had walked out the door to find my kid diaperless in a puddle of pee, i probably would have spanked his/her bare butt and sent them to their room for the rest of the day. looks like i have a long way to come.

and george's comment about grandpa joe and the resurrection is priceless. i'm so glad you documented it. it reminds me a lot of something my youngest sister said right after my mom passed away. she was only 5 at the time, and very confused as to where mom had gone and why she wasn't coming back. my dad briefly taught her about the resurrection and explained to her that we will be able to see our mom again when the resurrection happens. she then replied, "dad, can the resurrection happen tomorrow?"...i just love the sweet innocence of children. your boys are precious...even if they do pee on the floor.

How can they be so exasperating and so amazing at the same time? Owen was on the verge of being in trouble today. I was on the hunt for him and he knew it. I found him kneeling at his bed, praying. I just shook my head. Leah was mad and said, "He's just saying his prayers so he doesn't have to clean up." Thank you for telling your stories. I don't feel so alone in my insanity.
