musings...inspired by an assortment of recent pics

Number One: Charlie has weird teeth.
His front teeth are overshadowed by his cuspids and are usually blocked from view by his luscious upper lip.
And his bite...I hope the housing market improves because we may need to take out a second mortgage to pay his orthodontic bill.

Number Two: George is learning how to manage his eccentricities.
George was super excited when I told him about my plans to build a bookshelf. He looked over the plans and asked me about the process. He knew he would be able to help me because he is good at math and really strong, as strong as Trevor, however, he did have one concern. How would he manage the noise of the big saw at Home Depot? It was important to him that he be able to watch as the wood was cut but the thought of the loud noise worried him. While we talked about options George remembered "those things dad puts in his ears" and ran upstairs to swipe a pair of Paul's ear plugs. Problem solved.

Number Three: A hammer, some nails, and a piece of scrap wood can provide hours of entertainment and really aren't that dangerous.

George worked right along side me while I built the shelf for our dinning room. He hammered nails into a piece of MDF for several hours while he supervised my work and talked about the club house he is going to build this summer. The entire experience was really quite pleasant for both of us. He felt like an important contributor and I got to spend some quality time with him while also completing a project. Rare indeed.

Number Four: Goggles are funny.

The End.

George's face at Home Depot is hilarious! He still looks a bit nervous but is handling the noise well! Charlie's teeth aren't that weird, just kind of small. That really is fun that you were able to spend quality time together while you built the bookshelf, I would love to be able to incorporate my kids into my projects more often. And goggles are great, we wear them in the bathtub.

Hey Amy I just saw all the post you sent thru this email, your kids are just sooooo cute!!! I can't believe how time flies, my oldest is already 6! I barely just checked my gmail account cuz its my newer account. Love your blog. Oh ya I was just trying to remember the other day what "the secrete" formula was that you came up with for your curly hair? I remembered that the Loreal gel was one of them and an Aveda product but couldn't remember what it was called?
Take care!

Hmmm...you're in danger of inspiring me to reconsider building that addition to my swingset this summer. I scrapped the idea because it takes so long and takes time away from the kids...but if they were INVOLVED, that would be different. Hmm, Hmm, Hmm. :)

I have already had one kid with braces for a year, and ALL of them will need them, which is a bummer, because I have straight teeth naturally. I wish my genes were stronger. :) Goggles are so cute on kids. I love blogs! I'm so glad I get to see what you're up to!

Yeah, I am still impressed with your building skills. Oh, and I tried to chat with you over gmail the other day.....which I have never done before.....and never got your reply. I think one of my kids exxed out of the page. Anyhow, I am sorry about Charlie's bite. Unfortunately my kids are in the same boat. So, they may not have any help with college BUT they will have straight teeth!

#1, I can't decide if it is as much weird teeth as it is just so much more luscious lips. They are superbly luscious. #2, You go George! The look on his face is spectacular. Way to be brave and resourceful man. #3, it depends on the child...glad it worked for you though. #4, Goggles are very funny!
