Six

This is for Lara who tagged me and for Darci, Travis, Laurel, and Tyra all of whom I have just tagged.

1. I have no problem chucking my pride out the window when it comes to surprising my family with a good laugh. I am not coordinated or athletic in any way but have no problem dancing, competing in a good old fashioned foot race, or providing other unexpected performances that my body was clearly not designed to participate in. The key here is that it has to be unexpected in order to increase the shock factor.

2. I am unable to buy the first item on the shelf or rack. I really can't do it, in fact, when there is only one of a specific item left I have to really evaluate how much I want it before I am able to commit to buying the heavily handled version. I usually go three or four deep depending on how many of the item are available in order to find the most pristine one. I think there should be some kind of discount offered for that first item (which is actually sometimes the last item too because there are other people like me and some of them return the item that was in the front position to the very back after they look at it and then there becomes two "unpristine" items). In general you can't always count on the front item being the untouched one especially with clothes and you have to look through the entire stack to see which one appears least likely to have been tried on. The only exception to this rule is groceries though depending on the item I still sometimes find myself digging deep on the shelf. For some reason I am embarrassed about this quirk and find myself look around before I pull out three or four items in search of the most untouched one. This is especially true when I am shopping with someone else and will sometimes wait until they round the corner before indulging in my quest.

3. I am tone deaf. When I tell people I am tone deaf they think I am kidding and assure me that I am not. However, I really am tone deaf. Paul and I spent many road trips trying to see if I could match a pitch or carry a specific tune until he finally declared, "You really are tone deaf." I really can't hear tone at all and also have a hard time hearing the beat of a song.

4. I am a really good cook. Not many people know this about me because until this year I had cooked seven meals in my entire married life. This year I have really gotten into cooking and discovered that I am quite good at it.

5. I am really good at organizing closets and drawers. You would never know this by taking a cursory look of my house but if you took the time to open my closets and drawers it would make you wonder how this person can be so organized on the inside and such a cluttered mess on the outside. Now I am wondering if this could be symbolic of my entire being...

6. I am a really slow shopper. It takes me a long time to make a decision and I often find myself buying and then returning when I change my mind.

I am the same when it comes to buying things. I pick the one furthest from the front or in the middle. Especially when it comes to lotions, shampoos, facewash, toothpaste, etc. We are weird. I sent Lara my tag so she can post it if she gets around to it.

I loved learning all of those fun things about you. I'm totally the same when it comes to groceries. I have to find the box or package that doesn't have any dinged corners or look like it's been squished or anything. With clothes, I like to find the most pristine one, but if there's only one left, I'll take it!

Amy, I knew about all of those. Come on??? I wanted you to surprise me. P.S. since I have been let down I think that I will have to post your talent video from Mom's talent show.

It was neat to learn those things about you. I also love to cook. It's hard with the little ones, but well worth it when your done. I love to watch the Foodnetwork. DO you? Do you have a favorite?
What are you talking about...your house always looks nice and organized!

I don't have the Food Network but I love to watch Rachel Ray on the days I am not working. I also really like her website.

So I guess you probably don't get as excited about Last Chance as the rest of us E's do.

I too, dig for the items at the back of the shelf at the grocery store, but not exactly for the same reason you do...it's just because typically the items in back are the freshest.

I guess I'm the opposite when it comes to the organization thing. My house typically appears to be clean, but no one better go routin' around in the closets, cupboards or drawers...

Hey I've never thought about it before, but I think I may be tone deaf, too. I couldn't ever really figure out my problem, but now I'm pretty sure it's that I'm tone deaf...

Amy, this is Sid, Lara's friend. I died laughing about not buying the first thing on the shelf. Joel is totally that way. He always has to buy like the third item back. You guys are funny. Do you have OCD too?
