Six

This is for Lara who tagged me and for Darci, Travis, Laurel, and Tyra all of whom I have just tagged.

1. I have no problem chucking my pride out the window when it comes to surprising my family with a good laugh. I am not coordinated or athletic in any way but have no problem dancing, competing in a good old fashioned foot race, or providing other unexpected performances that my body was clearly not designed to participate in. The key here is that it has to be unexpected in order to increase the shock factor.

2. I am unable to buy the first item on the shelf or rack. I really can't do it, in fact, when there is only one of a specific item left I have to really evaluate how much I want it before I am able to commit to buying the heavily handled version. I usually go three or four deep depending on how many of the item are available in order to find the most pristine one. I think there should be some kind of discount offered for that first item (which is actually sometimes the last item too because there are other people like me and some of them return the item that was in the front position to the very back after they look at it and then there becomes two "unpristine" items). In general you can't always count on the front item being the untouched one especially with clothes and you have to look through the entire stack to see which one appears least likely to have been tried on. The only exception to this rule is groceries though depending on the item I still sometimes find myself digging deep on the shelf. For some reason I am embarrassed about this quirk and find myself look around before I pull out three or four items in search of the most untouched one. This is especially true when I am shopping with someone else and will sometimes wait until they round the corner before indulging in my quest.

3. I am tone deaf. When I tell people I am tone deaf they think I am kidding and assure me that I am not. However, I really am tone deaf. Paul and I spent many road trips trying to see if I could match a pitch or carry a specific tune until he finally declared, "You really are tone deaf." I really can't hear tone at all and also have a hard time hearing the beat of a song.

4. I am a really good cook. Not many people know this about me because until this year I had cooked seven meals in my entire married life. This year I have really gotten into cooking and discovered that I am quite good at it.

5. I am really good at organizing closets and drawers. You would never know this by taking a cursory look of my house but if you took the time to open my closets and drawers it would make you wonder how this person can be so organized on the inside and such a cluttered mess on the outside. Now I am wondering if this could be symbolic of my entire being...

6. I am a really slow shopper. It takes me a long time to make a decision and I often find myself buying and then returning when I change my mind.
