photobooth friday

Summer 1991. The summer between 8th and 9th grade I lived with my aunt and her family in Mount Airy, Maryland. I met some great friends who I kept in touch with for a while but unfortunately now I can't remember most of their names now. This is my first ever photobooth picture taken with Rebekah in a mall in Mount Airy. I had beautiful "claw bangs" back then even though it was 1991 (in Idaho things stay "in-style" for a lot longer than they do in the rest of the country).
I am beginning to run out of photobooth pics (though Charlie did have his first solo shoot a couple of weeks ago and those pics will be coming soon) I am thinking of starting a "Claw Bangs Thursday" post and am inviting everyone to participate. If you want to do it just post your claw bangs picture to your blog on Thursday for my viewing pleasure. If you are too young to have ever had claw bangs or didn't grow up in Idaho where claw bangs were in style until the mid 1990's then you'll have to take a rain check (you never know they could come back) on participating in this one.

I am pretty sure that they weren't still in-style. 1991? come on Amy? Isn't the truth that you loved the bangs and just couldn't give them up yet? j/k
LOL. That picture is super-funny. I love your smile. You look so goofy. I didn't have bangs for very long but I will do my best to support you in your quest to get them back in-style.

That picture is so awesome! I love the claw bangs. I don't think I ever had claw bangs, but I did have super huge bangs, I will try to find some of them so that I can participate in the Thursday post

I rarely had bangs growing up but when I did I think they were pom poms. So I too will try to dig those up for your amusement!

OH MY GOSH! That is a great picture. I showed Noel and he asked, "Is she embarrassed?" Apparently not since you posted it and want to have a claw bangs thursday! hahaha. That is great!
I didn't have claw bangs, but I did have some pretty bad bangs for awhile. I have vowed to never give my girls bangs until they ask for them.

I had the bangs. I actually had very ugly bangs from like 13 to 18 luckily I had some roommates that helped me out with that. I will have to find some claw bang pictures. I love looking at older pictures. I am glad you thought this plan up.

Amy, I too, had the bangs. Mine were so, so embarrasing. I used to go through like an entire can of aqua net in less than a week. I remember running out one time before school, and literally panicking at the thought of having to go to school with my bangs down. My dad made me some hairspray out of sugar water, which actually worked, for about 2 hours, and then I just had this huge ratted wall hanging down my face the rest of the day...
I'll have to see what I can dig up, because I have some really, really scary pictures of those bangs!

I just showed Dan your picture and he said, "She put that up on her own blog?"
Men, they just don't understand. . .

I don't know what Dan is talking about. I look hott. Besides, has he seen the picture of him that Natalie posted to her blog?

I remember being very jealous that I couldn't get my bangs to stand up as well or as high as yours. You should see if you can find a picture of Aunt Jill back then. She was the queen of big bangs.
